C'mon guys! Give it a go! Paperclips might seem like a ridiculous thing to write about, but it's actually quite cool :D

8:57 pm - Challengy type... thing!

b4zookajules
*cross-posted in b4zookajules for this post, to rally up people to do it :P*

I said I'd start this a little while back, but I totally forgot about it. But I've remembered now, so here we go! :D

The challenge is to take the subject I've set, and write up to 500 words about it. The minimum word count is 100, maximum 500 - just enough to keep you writing at least a little bit every day. Although I've got no idea so far, I think we should just have one of these posted every day, and all participants just reply to the post with their entries. It doesn't matter if it's utter tripe - it's just the importance of writing something every day to keep your muse flowing smoothly.

Okay? :D

This will all be posted from now on in nanobeans, so if you want to participate, make sure you're a member :) Or if it's closed membership (which I think it might be), gimmie a shout on here and I'll add you on. :) So, today's word is...

Conscience!Collapse )

Okay, that's utter tripe, but it doesn't matter! And although it started off with the intention of being about conscience, it swayed right off the subject and onto a totally different one. But I care not; the point is, it got 300 words out of me. WOOHOO! *waves flag*

So, c'mon guys, your turn :P I'm not doing this alone!

5:57 pm - NaNoWriYear, anyone?

shorty588
I'm thinking about doing a NaNoWriYear, and there's an idea forming in my head. But, alas, I will not do this by myself. Because I suck like that.

Is anyone else interested? You'd write a 100,000 word novel in a year, so it's really a lot less work than NaNoWriMo, but it's a longer commitment. However, missing a day or whatever doesn't affect anything.

I was thinking we'd have a couple months to brainstorm and outline and stuff, and then start in June or something, get a head start over the summer, and finish next June.

Any takers?

6:13 pm - *chases a tumbleweed*

b4zookajules
It's been yonks since this has been posted in, so I thought I'd bring it to life ^^

I was talking about NaNo earlier on, and decided that I really need to get seriously back into writing again. I looked back at my novel the other day, and although most of it is endless descriptions of things to up my word count, I really did like how my writing style was going. But because I've hardly written a thing since the end of November, my ability has gone straight down the plughole again.

So, I've made a decision! I want to get into writing 500 words a day, so that hopefully my writing'll improve again, and it'll stay that way. But I think that the only way to really do this is through a community. And yes, I know that there's communities made especially for that around, but why not do it here? It's not doing anything until this November, and I'd much rather do something like this with people that I know =)

So, anyone interested in doing it with me?? I'd really rather not do it alone!

-Jules. xxx

Edited to add: While I'm here, I've noticed there's a few people watching the community who aren't members. I'm not totally sure how it all works, but if you want to be a member, just comment here and I'll add you right away =)

3:46 pm - Two things.

allibabab
I have a few problems.

One: I am about five thousand words behind where I'm supposed to be. Eeeeeeek!

Two (and this one you guys might be able to help with :P): I made a small plot choice, wrote a thousand words, and now I've decided that I think it's a ridiculous idea. And I don't really know what to do, because I don't want to go and waste those thousand words, since I'm already reall far behind. I suppose it really doesn't make that big of a difference, but the actual thing that I chose is pretty stupid. :/ :P

Should I delete, or just leave it, since it doesn't really matter all that much?

v_enna Christ.

I am never, ever, EVER, writing a murder scene again. I swear to God, I NEVER WILL.

You don't KNOW how much I am shaking right now.

I pictured it all so well in my head. Writing the murder is so much more different than just saying "so-and-so was murdered". Especially when you're writing from the Murderee's POV. Writing it, I could feel everything that happened to her, and I felt so bloody bad for putting her through all that pain. Chrriiiisst.

I know I'm overreacting, but I've stayed up till a quarter to five in the morning writing, and I'm still bloody shaking.

Okay, well, I'm sloughing away at NaNoWriMo. I've got about 16 or so pages written in my notebook...however, only three are typed up.

I'll have to pick it up tommorow, I'm going on a (sort-of) date now.

I'm freaking out. I've had my idea for 2 months, and now that there's 5 days until we start writing, I have no outlined plot.

Quick - start naming things that can go horribly wrong at a summer camp. Not relationship-wise...that's about all I've got right now.

Meme for my OC for NaNo.

Much excitment, non?

So, what's your OC's name, to begin with?
Brigit Rosen

What's their starsign?
April 16th, so that'd make her Aries.
es is the first sign of the Zodiac and governs the head. Positive characteristics of Aries include courage, enthusiasm, idealism, charisma, quick wits, an ability to "think on one's feet," leadership potential, exuberant energy, zeal, and innocence. Negative traits include selfishness, tactlessness, egocentrism, an inability to save money, impetuousness, a hot temper, combativeness, oversensitivity, carelessness, and cruelty.

What Hogwarts House were they/are they/would be in?
Ravenclaw. She's smart, intelligent, and loves being "in the know" According to http://www.spenecial.com/birdsofafeather/astrology.htm, it says about Aries Ravenclaws: These Ravenclaws will have lightning-fast mental reflexes. Aries is an intellectual sign, but it is also an impatient sign; Ravenclaws who were born under this sign are likely to tolerate no dull wits or stupidity, whether they see this lack of mental competence in themselves (in which case they will berate themselves for not understanding, or give up quickly in frustration without really trying to overcome their difficulty in learning) or in others (in which case they will lash out at the offender with acidic comments and haughty, cutting looks). These Ravenclaws will want to be at the head of the class, dominating other students in their chosen intellectual field, and may be almost as competitive as Slytherins. However, the true aim of every Ravenclaw is knowledge, knowledge, and more knowledge. While a Slytherin might see losing a magical duel or being bested by another student in a DADA class as humiliating, the Ravenclaw will probably just take delight in competition for its own sake, and see defeat as a learning experience.

Appearance?
Really long, straight, blonde hair. And a cute upturned nose with a lot of freckles. Ice blue eyes, extraordinarily pale. She's average height, average weight. Actually very pretty when you get down to it, but she likes to cover it up by wearing lots of black depressing gothy clothes and black makeup. She pretends to be very confident and happy with herself and her looks, although she's quite insecure about her feelings--she's going through quite a rebelious stage. Her mother's putting her in counsling, and she's not quite sure. She's very angry at everything. I feel like I'm writing a fantasy version of Catcher in the Rye.

The BEDP Test - Boggart, Erised, Dementor and Patronus.
Boggart--her psycologist Erised--Greenwich village Dementor--the time she got hit by a car and she thought she was dead. Patronus--horse

Favourite Hogwarts school subject?
Runes

Favourite Muggle school subject?
She loves any kind of history and English. She also loves her poetry class and her Studio Art 5,6 (it's a performing/visual arts school)

Are they right- or left-handed?
right-handed

Their preferred Muggle music?
She loves punk and all sorts of rock, although a Dixie Chicks CD is hidden under her mattress.

Who do they love most?
She loves her friend Su Li a lot, and Jim's very near and dear to her heart. But I'd have to say she loves herself most.

They're left in an empty room for three hours. They can magically get anything they want - except people. When you come back to them, what are they doing?
blasting depressing music at full blast, and either painting or writing poetry.

Would they make a good teacher? Why or why not?
She would get impatient with them when they don't listen to her, so no.

If they had to fight, what weapon would they choose? Why?
heh. A samuri sword. She loves

sure. Why not?

She'd get rid of her self loathing and insecurity. And possible nervous breakdown.

a sarcastic, dry one.

no

And finally: if they had an LJ, what would their username be?
